What Are Haskap Berries?

Haskap berries are edible blue honeysuckle berries native to cool climates such as Canada, Japan, and Siberia. First planted on our farm in 2014 with 480 bushes, haskaps thrive in our local soil and climate.

They are one of the very first fruit crops to ripen in Ontario, harvested in mid-June. Immediately after harvesting, we flash-freeze the berries to lock in peak flavour and nutrient density, allowing us to bake fresh haskap treats throughout our entire fall season.

What Do Haskaps Taste Like?

The flavor of a haskap berry is often described as a delicious cross between a blueberry, a raspberry, and a blackberry. It delivers a unique, complex balance of natural sweetness and vibrant tartness that makes it an extraordinary baking ingredient.

Health & Nutritional Benefits of Haskaps

Beyond their bold taste, haskaps are widely celebrated as a Canadian superfood. The berries are naturally loaded with:

  • Antioxidants: Combating oxidative stress throughout the body.

  • Anthocyanins: The powerful antioxidant compound responsible for the berry’s deep blue skin and vivid purple interior.

  • Polyphenols & Essential Vitamins: Supporting overall health and vitality.

Regularly consuming haskap berries is associated with supporting immune function, heart health, healthy aging, and overall daily wellness.

What a great place! We were there today and loved it. The kids had a great time, and the grilled cheese food truck was a great way to end the day. We had it all - from their freshly baked donuts, pretzels, apple cider, and hot chocolate! We'll definitely be back!
